proud to display

But beyond just displaying this graphic, what does it mean to me?
It stands for the fact that with FA I have tried to always uphold a certain 'standard' if you will, regarding what is listed on FA.
This is out of a responsibility I accepted back in 97 when FA was born.
This responsibility is to do some rather basic (albiet 'corny' to some) things which involve :
* RESPECTING those who create real freeware
* RESPECTING those who may kindly choose to visit FA
How so you ask?
Respect is given by being selective and sticking to the standard of REAL FREEware.

For you see, in a web that is more and more overrun by commercialism and EGOS, I see freeware as something precious and vital.
It's creators as a sort of last bastion of 'good'.
Those who may find freeware to be useful as being intelligent and deserving of a site/resource that won't knuckle under to subverting it's standards, and just ending up being a 'list anything' without consideration of any true standards solely so the site has growing contents and can 'draw' visitors based on such.

Maybe TFR is not embraced by a slew of webmasters, but numbers are meaningless without integrity.

Read the TFR charter here.
